Announcing Tina Patterson TOL School Trustee Candidacy

July 15, 2026, Langley, BC — I am proud to officially announce my candidacy for School Trustee in the Township of Langley. As a 25-year public educator, a local parent, a community volunteer, and a long-term resident, my dedication to our neighborhood schools runs deep. Having served firsthand as a classroom high school teacher, an Acting Vice-Principal, an Aboriginal Learning Department Head, Gifted Teacher Facilitator, and School Associate for PDP Candidates, I have spent my career navigating the complexities of public education. I understand exactly how boardroom policies impact our daily classroom realities, and I am ready to bring that full-circle insight to our local governance.

Our rapidly growing school district faces unique, urgent challenges that require tested, ground-level leadership. My campaign is built on three core pillars: expanding mental health initiatives, fostering inclusive cultural practices that support Indigenous and diverse learners, and securing the essential classroom resources our expanding community needs. Effective school boards require collaboration, open communication, and absolute transparency. I am running to bridge the gap between district decisions and kitchen table realities, ensuring that local families and frontline educators are always heard.

True leadership is about turning personal connections into a proven commitment to our children's future. I am fully prepared to roll up my sleeves and work tirelessly to ensure that every student in Langley has a safe, supportive environment where they truly belong.
